Katawud Village & Kottages is a one-stop-shop for finding lodging with local families, as well as booking rooms at other guesthouse facilities in the Rio Grande Valley. As members of the nine villages that make up the larger Maroon communities in the Rio Grande Valley, we can facilitate a variety of lodging needs to fit different accommodation preferences and budgets. Homestays allow visitors to have immersive experiences by sharing in the everyday activities of host families, including sharing meals, talking about our history, culture, and experiences, and taking strolls in our communities with your hosts.
Camping at Katawud Kampgrung: We offer both camping and glamping experiences at our Katawud Kampgrung sites throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Our covered glamping site (which has restroom facilities) at Katawud Village is perched on a small hill above the refreshing waters of the Dry River in Ginger House. Meals (including breakfast) and beverages are available from the Katawud Village Kitchen, Jerk-Inna-Di-Rock jerk pit, and juice bar. For the more adventurous visitor who wants to be closer to nature, we have Katawud Kampgrung sites further away from the populated communities throughout the National Park. We also rent tents, comfortable sleeping bags, airbeds, camping chairs and other camping gear.
